Dad, pleeeeze! - Jan Lee

John has been many things in his life: Military, Artist, School Teacher, Canine Trainer/Handler, and Writer. Along the way he has met many fine people and had some interesting adventures across the world. His writing experience started in the military where he wrote introductory classes and conducted occupational specialty training. Later as a teacher in the public school system his experience came in handy in course development. After leaving education, John spent his last years in the work place working with Homeland Security where his writing and educational training came in handy once again. After writing articles for online publications, RV travel magazines and providing research and photographs for his wife, who is also a Suite 101 writer, John decided to up the bar a bit and applied for Suite 101. He likes the idea of writing on topics that interest him and reviewing books on the human/canine adventure.

From an early age John started training German Shepherds in obedience, protection and as companion dogs. In 2000 he began training shepherds for scent work in search and rescue/recovery. He has published numerous articles on the topics of German Shepherd handling and training, and is looking forward to publishing more in the near future. With retirement John is now rescuing German Shepherds and finding them good homes.
